In 2020, we set investments in motion to completely change the way we work and serve our patients. While the pandemic slowed down the roll-out of planned upgrades, it also gave a window of opportunity to deploy technology such as telehealth to continue to serve and treat our patients in the safest manner possible.
We began our upgrades with core infrastructure: cybersecurity, network and a new data center – the foundation of our digital transformation. By the end of 2020, nearly all treatments centers were interconnected and are now all protected by our new enterprise security monitoring and Artificial Intelligence sentry solution. We are now completing the upgrade of our data center to improve performance and reliability of our critical care and business applications.
As we progress into 2021, we are excited to move forward with our new EHR and clinical initiatives which will help to improve outcomes and the BHG experience for both you and our patients.
Completed:
- Launched new electronic prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS).
- Replaced aging fleet of copy machines with 60 new ones.
- Masergy Wide Area Network and Security Operation Center
- Carbon Black – Endpoint (desktop) security
In progress:
- Conducting HIPAA security audit to bolster cybersecurity and culture of compliance
- Installing new enterprise phone system
- Replacing old desktop computers
- First deployment of new EHR system at BHG Medical Services – Knoxville in Quarter 1.
- OTP pilot will be in Quarter 3
Upgrading enterprise-wide technology takes time, but with everyone’s patience and cooperation, we will make it all a great success as we transform our facilities to first-class technology centers.
