It’s Time for Mid-Year Check-In on Goal Setting

For everyone who has direct reports, it’s time to check in with your teams to ensure they’re meeting their goals. If you’re needing a little motivation about why it’s important to set goals, here’s a great quote from one of my favorite, free skills and career development newsletters called MindTools.
“Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short-term motivation. It focuses your acquisition of knowledge, and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your life.”
You can log into Paycor to review and here’s a reminder of what we communicated to you back in April.
- Paycor will be the tool/technology that will capture goal content.
- Managers with Direct reports are required to include one diversity goal and a turnover goal.
- For leadership included in the EICP program, you should consider using those goals as a foundation for personal goals as well as cascading to employees.
- Goals will be incorporated in the 2021 Performance Management/review process.

BHG Hosts its First Diversity Webinars

Cheryl Simpson & Richardson Simpson, BHG – Lansing
Last month, the BHG Lansing team celebrated the retirement of Office Manager Cheryl Simpson and Counselor Richard Simpson. BHG acquired the Lansing location in December 2020 where Cheryl worked for nearly eight years and Rich worked for nearly 10 years. They brought so much humor, enthusiasm and focus on patient care that it will be difficult to fill their shoes. Cheryl and Rich will be dearly missed but we wish them nothing but the best in their future traveling, boating and family endeavors!

On June 22, Accounting Specialist Pat Schaum embarked on a new course…retirement! Pat was hired in 2012 and provided invaluable service and dedication. With his calm demeanor, positive attitude and wealth of knowledge, he was well-liked and an excellent role model. As a fan of college sports, he enjoyed discussing the latest game, statistics and which team would win the next challenge. Although his sense of humor and quick smile will be missed around the office, we all wish him and his family the absolute best as he begins this next chapter. Congratulations, Pat!
