Phoenix Health Center, Hagerstown, MD, Joins BHG
This past June 23, BHG leaders Jay Higham, Dwight Mussleman, and Amanda Karistai visited the Phoenix Health Center in Hagerstown, MD, which will officially join the BHG family this month, adding another state to the BHG footprint. Teammates are excited to be affiliated with BHG and look forward to partnering with sister clinics in Washington, DC, and Glen Allen, VA.
As Program Director for 11 years at the Hagerstown center, Kathy Bishop will continue to lead the clinic. Kathy comes to BHG with over 20 years of leadership experience in the behavioral health field. Prior to Phoenix Health Center now known as both BHG Maryland Treatment Center (OTP) and BHG Medical Services – Maryland (OBOT), she served as the Chief Operations Officer of a multi-location addiction and pain management practice.

She is certified in criminal justice, medical assisting and medical office management, and is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration. She’s also in phase two of applying for her certification as a Fraud Investigator.
Kathy has completed MAT education modules including Harvard X: The Opioid Crisis in America certificate program. She’s a member of the Washington County Overdose Fatality Review Team. She is involved with local harm reduction efforts, MAT education and the local SENS Committee.
