Here We Grow Again, Dec. ’21

BHG continues to grow through strategic acquisitions where there is a pressing need for our approach to real recovery. Please welcome our newest treatment center staff in Kansas and North Carolina to the BHG Family! Combined, they have more than 600 patients and the potential to reach an estimated 215,000 people who reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use.

BHG Lawrence Treatment Center (formerly Center for Change, LLC) is the third BHG center in Kansas and is an OTP with 120 patients.

A Kaiser Family Foundation study found an estimated 6,000 adults in Kansas reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use. In April 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) noted that Kansas had 471 overdose deaths in 2020.

Reaching more patients in North Carolina

We also expanded our footprint in North Carolina with three new treatment centers where the state saw in 2020 a staggering 209,000 adults reportedly needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use.

BHG Wilson Treatment Center is an OTP and has 214 patients.

BHG Elizabeth City Treatment Center is an OTP and has 253 patients.

BHG Ahoskie Treatment Center is an OTP and has 85 patients.

A Kaiser Family Foundation study found that between 2017 and 2018 more than 209,000 adults in North Carolina reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use. In September 2021, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) noted that North Carolina reported a 34% increase in drug overdose deaths over the past 12-month period compared to the U.S. average rate of 30.8%.
